So. Wank. Pretty much everything I want to say has been said by people far more articulate than I am. impertinence's post on the subject was both incredibly difficult to read but also very important, and it's here for those of you who have somehow missed it. Warning: It contains very explicit discussion of sexual assault and the nature, anatomy, cause & effect of triggers. Is itself triggery. I'm mostly past angry and tearful (that was last night and this afternoon, for me) and am now just incredibly disappointed, because I didn't think that this was even a subject worthy of wank. It seems pretty straight-forward to me. Put a warning on your fic in order to prevent survivors of sexual abuse from being triggered and suffering even more mental damage. No one gives a fuck about your ~*~artistic integrity~*~ if you have no personal integrity. If you're too selfish to put a goddamn warning on your fic, than I really don't want to know you because you're a shitty person.
